Even your most intense chocolate craving doesn’t stand a chance against these Paleo Double Chocolate Cookies! These super chocolatey cookies are gluten-free and refined sugar-free. Ready in 30 minutes!

Let’s talk about these glorious paleo double chocolate cookies you’re looking at. You guys know I’m a cookie girl – I make these paleo chocolate chip cookies almost every week and I still always want to try out new, delicious cookie recipes.
These gluten-free double chocolate cookies are definitely in the rotation now. They’re the perfect, extra chocolatey version of my go-to favorite.
These cookies are ULTRA chocolatey and fudgy, just the way a double chocolate cookie should be. The big chocolate chunks definitely help out in that department. They’re naturally flourless, made with just cocoa powder to hold it all together. They’re also refined sugar-free since they’re sweetened with coconut sugar.
A sprinkle of flaky sea salt adds that salty/sweet combo that I love. But the salt is a personal preference so if salty sweet isn’t your jam, skip it.

If you want thick cookies, place dough in the freezer for 15 minutes before baking.
Want to make the cookies ahead of time?
You can place the cookie dough in the fridge for up to 3 days before baking. You can either place it in the fridge in a bowl or scoop out the cookies individually and refrigerate them in cookie dough balls.

Take 10 minutes today to give your chocolate sweet tooth the best treat it’s had all week – you deserve it! These paleo double chocolate chip cookies will make you swoon. Enjoy :)

Hello,
Great recipe! Satisfied my chocolate craving thats for sure! How many weight watcher points?
Hi Heather, I don’t follow the Weight Watchers plan so I’m not sure how their Points system works. Sorry I can’t be more help!
I made these today and they taste delicious but spread out all over the cookie sheet and turned out pretty thin and crunchy after I left them to cool. My coconut oil was solid and I put the dough in the freezer for 15 minutes. The only thing that was different from the recipe was that I only had 1/2 a cup of cocoa. Any ideas on what I should do differently next time?
Hi Whitney – it could definitely be from the missing cocoa powder, since it acts a bit like flour here to help provide some structure. I’d recommend following the recipe exactly next time and they should keep their shape. Hope this helps!
I was skeptical about how these would come out without flours but they are amazing. 5gis is the 3rd time I’ve made them since discovering like 3 weeks ago. Quite possibly the best cookies I have made paleo or not! Delicious!! Now I’m making a double batch :-D thanks for this recipe!
I’m SO happy to hear you’re loving them, Brittani! Thanks so much for letting me know you’re enjoying the recipe :)
They were delicious but crumbled and never fully set as a cookie. I assume from the coconut oil ratio. Any suggestions?
Hmm, that’s odd! Sorry you had trouble, Rochelle. Did it seem like they had too much oil? If that’s the case, I’d try reducing the amount by a tablespoon or two next time you make the cookies.
Hello,
Can we freeze the dough?
Yes, form the dough into balls and then freeze it on a tray. Once the dough is frozen, you can put the dough balls in a zip-top bag for long term freezer storage. I like to mark the bag with date made, what they are, and baking temp/time. Enjoy!
Hi there! How many does this recipe yield?
Hi Anna, I mistakenly forgot to record it when I made these, but I think it’s around 12-16 cookies, depending on the size you make them. Hope this helps!
Was there supposed to be coconut flour in these? Mine turned into one big sheet of cookies-disaster:)
No these are flourless cookies, with the cocoa powder acting like flour. So sorry they didn’t turn out for you! Did the dough seem particularly soft or anything?
Just made these tonight, weighed everything and they turned out perfectly Very delicious, thank you!
So thrilled to hear you’re loving them, Andrea! Thanks for your feedback.
eating these right this minute with a cup of coffee….I make them with Swerve Stevia…but that’s the only difference….
LOVE LOVE LOVE these….they are my staple.
SO thrilled you’re loving them Jennie! Thanks so much for the feedback :)
LOOK ! I had already commented before…..had forgotten this….too involved in chocolate bliss, I guess….
hahahahaha
These are my go-to staple in my house….and suprisingly, for the first time, I sprinkled the salt on top of them. O.M.G. !. !. !. how did I miss this before…..wow….takes them to a whole new level.
I do make them with Swerve ( stevia confectioner’s sugar) and bring the calorie count to 50 per cookie….
they are ALWAYS at my house.
I love that you finally tried the salt, Jennie! I always think it brings out such delicious dimension to sweet treats, especially with chocolate. Thanks for sharing that it works with Swerve for a super low cal treat too. So happy you love these!
