Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
This is my favorite Chocolate Chip Banana Bread recipe! This no-fail recipe creates a moist, flavorful quick bread.
Something really exciting happened to me today. Like, really exciting. I’ve been waiting for yearsss and it finally happened. Kids all over the world wait and wait for it to happen, and it happened to me today.
Just guess what it is.
Okay, you give up?
I GOT MY LICENSE!!!
You may have read my post where I complained and moaned about the mean DMV lady who didn’t allow me to even take the test last time I was there. Gosh, that was a buzz kill. She was horrible. (Read this post if you want to know what happened!) But as you saw before: no rude ladies stopped me today. Just Chu and I in the car, me dominating the test and getting my license. That’s just what went down. Chu was the driver man who gave me the wonderful license gift; he was SO nice!! We love him.
I only missed four points on my test…most of my friends missed like, at least 8. You fail at 15, so I got less than a third wrong! Impressive, huh? I know you’re jealous! :)
Soooo anyways, now I can do everything I want! Well not everything, but most things. Like go to the food store whenever I need to. I did that today and STOCKED UP on dulce de leche when I saw they had it. That stuff is my downfall. But seriously, I drove all the way there from my mom’s house and then to my dad’s all by myself. I’m a big girl now!
So exciting, right? I bet your as giddy with excitement reading this as I am!!!
But let’s talk banana bread, yeah?
I broke some banana bread rules here and used *gasp* fresh bananas. I know, it’s like a law that you need to use the black ones that look like their about to jump out of their skin and turn into an evil kitchen monster…but I used the little happy perfectly yellow ones anyways. Know why? Cause I wanted banana bread. And big girls get what they want.
So now – go celebrate with me and make some banana bread, but feel free to use whatever kind of rotting bananas your heart desires. :)

it would have been better with rotting ones ;)
Congrats on the license. Isn’t it awesome that you don’t need one to bake?
Congratulations for the licence. I remember I failed the first time too. A bitchy lady failed me too. The second time there were two men. I passed with no problem whatsoever. I believe men tend to be more relaxed, friendly and tolerant. This banana cake looks scrumptious.
LOVE your blog! Love your sense of humor! I am from San Diego too… living in Colorado now. I miss home!
Keep cooking girl! Heck yeah!
Thanks for comment Rachel.Congratulations on getting your license. I won’t mention how many times I failed the test . Rules are meant to be broken once we’ve learnt why they are there ;) !! Funny thing I just tried a chocolate chip banana muffin for the first time today. This is definitely one I’m going to try. Putting a spin on the regular old banana bread :P !!
what a cute blog you have! love the choco chip banana bread, it looks moist and just delicious!
