This banana cherry smoothie bowl has been waiting to be posted for a loooooong, long time. I’ve been making this one for a WHILE, and it’s definitely one of my favorite smoothie bowls to date – and I’ve made a lot of smoothie bowl recipes!

There was a (now-defunct) smoothie/juice bar here in San Diego called Beaming. The first one opened pretty close to where my parents live, and it’s been a family fave since it opened.

The juices and smoothies are amazing…but it’s super expensive. My favorite cherry smoothie costs $11! It definitely adds up, and it’s probably good I don’t live too close to it anymore. That favorite smoothie though? I CRAVE it.

So, I decided I needed to recreate it. It’s called the Euphoria smoothie, and it’s got cherries, bananas, homemade almond milk, a date, coconut butter…and some other goodies.

I made my cherry smoothie pretty similar to the original, but with a few adaptations – and of course, I made a smoothie bowl, because everything’s better with toppings!

To make this a banana cherry smoothie: it makes a delicious smoothie if you need to take it on the go or don’t want to add any toppings. Just add enough almond milk to make it the consistency you prefer.

I add some collagen and maca, two of my favorite beautifying superfoods, to give an extra nutrient boost. Cherries are full of antioxidants and are super excellent for your skin and hair. This is pretty much a beauty-boosting smoothie bowl!

What are the best toppings for a smoothie bowl?

For this one, I went little nuts with my toppings (as usual). I loaded up on…

  • Fresh cherries
  • Sliced bananas
  • Chocolate granola
  • Chia seeds
  • Flaked coconut
  • A big drizzle of almond butter

My toppings were absolutely delicious, but use whatever is convenient and sounds good to you!

Digging into this banana cherry smoothie bowl, made at home, gives me so much satisfaction to get many of my favorite flavors…and I’m not shelling out $11! Description

This Banana Cherry Smoothie Bowl is a healthy and delicious breakfast treat! It’s refreshing, filling, and loaded with beautifying superfoods. Add all your favorite toppings for a treat suited just to your tastes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 banana, frozen
  • 1 cup frozen cherries
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened coconut flakes
  • ½ cup almond milk, or dairy free milk of choice
  • 2 scoops collagen powder, leave out to keep vegan
  • 2 teaspoons maca powder

For the toppings

  • Fresh cherries
  • Almond butter
  • Granola
  • Chia Seeds
  • Flaked coconut

Instructions

  1. Combine banana, cherries, almond butter, coconut, almond milk, collagen and maca powder in a blender (I used my Vitamix). Puree until completely smooth – the mixture should be thick. Add a touch more liquid if necessary to get it to blend completely smooth.
  2. Transfer to a bowl and add toppings as desired. Enjoy immediately!
