Cranberry Lime Sangria
This Cranberry Lime Sangria is a sparkling + festive take on sangria! This is the perfect refreshing cocktail for a crowd this holiday season.
Happy Friday, friends! Can you believe that Christmas is ONE WEEK from today?! Is this for real? I seriously don’t know where this year went, and I’m in shock that we only have two weeks left in 2015.
I’ve been up to my ears in holiday-themed festivities (along with the rest of the Internet), and I must say, I love everything being so festive. Blasting holiday music and looking out my window to see twinkle lights adorning all of the houses makes the long, dark nights a whole lot more bearable.
I’ve also, of course, enjoyed thinking about cookies and dessert all month long – not that there’s really anything new there. I’m starting to plan out the appetizers and desserts for Christmas dinner – how’s your menu planning coming along?
If there’s something you should definitely add to your menu for this Christmas or New Years, it’s this Cranberry Lime Sangria! What’s a holiday party without a little wine?
This is somehow the first drink recipe I’ve ever posted on here, but since sangria is pretty much my fave (thanks to my trips to Barcelona), it’s a really good place to start. This sangria is straight up Christmas ready, thanks to the gorgeous red and green colors that are starring in this festive drink, but don’t limit it’s deliciousness to Christmas – this is one to enjoy any time of year.
For the fruit, I used cranberries, limes, and some apple chunks. I love adding the apple because it absorbs all of the flavor in the sangria in a way that the limes and cranberries don’t, and they serve as a nice little snack when you empty your cup!
Red wine and vodka add a boozy kick. I used a cabernet sauvignon, but you can use the red of your choice. I just wouldn’t choose sangria as the time to use your expensive bottles – you can use the cheaper stuff here, since so much extra flavor is added, but be sure to use a bottle you like.
I also added cranberry juice to bring that tart cranberry flavor – a pure, unsweetened cranberry juice works best here. To add some spritz and sparkle, I also added a couple of cans of DASANI Sparkling Water in the lime flavor. I loooove sparkling sangria – I think the bubbles just add a little bit of fun and festivity.
The DASANI Sparkling Water is awesome – it’s so delicious on it’s own, but it works great as a cocktail mixer. It’s zero calories and unsweetened, and comes in four flavors: lime, berry, lemon, and black cherry. So many delicious holiday drink recipes to be made!
Best of all, this recipe is best when made ahead so whip up a batch the night before your holiday party and set it in the fridge until your guests start arriving! Then, get the sangria flowing and have a very happy holiday. Enjoy! :)

Hi Rachel
What brand of unsweetened cranberry juice did you use in this recipe.
