Description

This one-bowl spiced Pumpkin Bread is a classic recipe you’ll go back to again and again.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7.5 oz pumpkin puree
  • 2 eggs, at room temperature
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ⅓ cup water
  • 1 cups white sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • Turbinado sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease and flour one 9×5″ pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, applesauce, water and sugars until well blended. Add in the dry ingredients and stir the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until just blended. Pour into the prepared pan and sprinkle the tops with Turbinado sugar if desired.
  3. Bake for 50-60 minutes in the preheated oven. The bread is done when a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. If you choose to make muffins instead, they will need about 30 minutes.
