Sumac Onions

Sumac onions are a delightful addition to salads, wraps, veggies, and bowls, offering a burst of tangy flavor. You only need 5 minutes and 6 ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1 tablespoon sumac
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil optional, for extra richness

Instructions

  • Slice the red onion super thin (a mandoline works great if you have one, or slice by hand).

  • Place in a bowl and add the lemon, sumac, salt, parsley, and olive oil, if using. Toss together to combine and coat the onions.

  • Let rest for 10 minutes at room temperature to soften before serving.
  • They can be used immediately or stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
