These dessert bars are gluten-free, grain-free and refined sugar-free.It’s peanut butter jelly time! Every time I think about peanut butter and jelly, the peanut butter jelly time song starts playing involuntarily on repeat in my head. In fact, it’s been playing in my head non-stop as I’ve edited photos and it’ll probably be playing in my head while I write this post. It’s so catchy (and mildly annoying).

But, it commemorates arguably the most American lunch there is: peanut butter and jelly! Were you a peanut butter and jelly kid in elementary school, or did you prefer other meals packed in your lunch box? I’ve always loved PB&J, which my peanut butter obsession no doubt contributed to, but there’s so many other totally delicious ways to enjoy the combo than in just a sandwich. [Read more…]

It was a situation that needed to be remedied STAT.

I got started, mixing up the super easy 3-ingredient homemade chocolate recipe that I know like the back of my hand, and pouring the bottom layer of chocolate into the lined mini muffin tins. I spent the morning making way more croissants than three girls could eat, but we tried anyways.

It was nice to finally cross croissants off my bucket list – they’d been on it for years, and I was like a proud momma as I pulled my beautifully puffed, browned, beautiful croissants from the oven. I made tons of flavors because I had tons of dough and had to use all of it. [Read more…]

Cookies usually do that for me. The ritual of making cookies always reminds me why I love baking, and it’s even better when you can make the dough with the basics: a bowl and wooden spoon.

I’m constantly using my stand mixer and subsequently doing a whole bunch of dishes, but for this recipe, you can skip it. A little elbow grease is all you need! [Read more…]

If you had asked me on Saturday morning where I would be this week, I definitely wouldn’t have thought I’d be in Hawaii.

But, on Saturday morning, my sister texted me from the vacation house in Kauai she’d just arrived at with her boyfriend. They had two extra bedrooms, I had a voucher for a free flight, and a job that allows me to work from where ever I want. It was one of those times where it worked out too well for me to do anything but jump at the opportunity to escape the Seattle rain and soak in some sun rays in Hawaii. [Read more…]
