Soft Peanut Butter M&M Cookies

Soft Peanut Butter M&M Cookies | Bakerita.comSometimes, you find a recipe that you just can’t resist making. You just have to make it then and there. Sometimes you find it in a recipe book, on a blog, or the idea for it magically appears in your head.

For me, these recipes and ideas are usually the best ones to grace the site. Something about them clearly stands out as amazing to me, and it seems it does for you all too. [Read more...]

White Chocolate Espresso Peanut Butter

White Chocolate Espresso Peanut Butter from Bakerita.comEver since I made my White Chocolate Pretzel Peanut Butter, I’ve been dreaming up tons of extravagant  indulgent peanut butters and almond butters that I want to make. I’ve already said before on the blog how much I love making my own nut butters – but if your new here and you’ve never done it, just know – it’s so rewarding, and so much easier than you would think!

You can add whatever crazy flavors you want, use whatever nuts you want, do mixes of nuts – anything goes! [Read more...]

Ben & Jerry. Those boys sure know what they’re doing when it comes to ice cream.

C’mon now – some of those flavors they come up with? Cinnamon Bun, Creme Brulee, Americone Dream, Chunky Monkey, and one of my personal favorites (drumroll please), Chubby Hubby.

Chubby Hubby ice cream is amazing. Described on their website as “Fudge Covered Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels in Vanilla Malt Ice Cream Rippled with Fudge & Peanut Butter”.

Seriously? Flavor perfection. Flavor perfection that I needed to duplicate in some sort of baked good/confection. [Read more...]

Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Pie

Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Pie | Bakerita.comI don’t really know how to explain this pie. It’s finally gone as of last night, and I actually miss it. I miss a pie.

Help.

But truly, it’s that good. Now, I made a TON of desserts over these past 5 or 6 days and everyone who came through the house had a different favorite. There’s something inherently comforting about food blogging, and the food blogging community. It’s a group of people – all completely dissimilar, coming from every country, background, religion, race, financial background – who all share one simple thing: the love of food.

While most Americans share that same love of food, food bloggers are the people who love to share that love. They are the people who want to share the flavors of their families, and their backgrounds, and the recipes they create in their kitchens, with the world. We, food bloggers, are some of the few people who will make our families suffer for a half hour as the tantalizing dish we made is ready to eat – but we need to photograph it to get the perfect picture to share with our readers. It’s a labor, but it’s also a labor of love, and with food blogging, if you don’t love what you do – it shows. [Read more...]

So, classes are starting to get into full swing and the reading is beginning. This semester, I’m taking Business in the International Context (which is super interesting already), Intermediate Spanish (let’s hope I get better at that), Accounting (bleh…math), and Intro to Creative Fiction Writing. About that last one, I’m really, really excited for it.

Clearly, I like to write, or I wouldn’t share embarrassing, exposing, and random stories about my life with a group of (mostly) strangers. For our first night of reading, we had to read an excerpt from Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott called “Shitty First Drafts”. Truly, it was hilarious, and wildly enlightening, because I realized that what I write for you guys is my shitty first drafts. [Read more...]
