Phew – finals are done, and I’m finally home as of yesterday afternoon.Typical – the night before I came home, I woke up with the flu, and after an agonizing day traveling with the flu (it sucks and I don’t recommend it), I finally got home and slept from 2 PM until 9 AM this morning. 19 hours of sleep…think I was tired?!
Thankfully though, I woke up feeling so much better, and thank goodness. Now that I’m home, I leave for London in exactly 10 days. I have no idea how time or this semester has gone so damn quickly. Nevertheless, it’s almost the holidays, and I need to share with you an amazing holiday dessert. Really though, it’s a dessert for anytime you need some serious decadence in your life, and if the holidays aren’t the time for that, well then, I don’t know when is. [Read more...]
Let’s talk about things that make us happy. More specifically: let’s talk about what happens when you make a s’mores cheesecake.

You know, when things don’t taste nearly as good straight out of the oven, or how you have to let a mousse or pudding set before you can go to town? It’s totally the worst. I know, I know. I’m telling you how much it sucks, but in all honesty – once you get through the hunger pains and total exercise of willpower, it’s sooo worth it. [Read more...]
Midterms week has arrived, and it’s kicking my butt. School’s in full gear, but I’m still craving summer!
Until today, Tacoma has still been pretty sunny and warm, which is a total anomaly for here. That has allowed me to keep up the facade that it’s still sorta summer so I’m still allowed to make summery treats like pink sugar cookies and these s’mores bars. [Read more...]
So, I just began writing a post for a different chocolate week treat. Two paragraphs in, I clicked on Facebook and saw a post for S'mores Cookies and a title exclaiming “Happy S'mores Day!”. Um, how was I unaware that August 10th is S'mores Day?
Good thing for me, I had a s'mores recipe all lined up for tomorrow so the order got a quick switch-a-roo and here we are: a s'mores recipe right in line with the days festivities.
