At the end of May, I moved from Seattle to San Diego via a week long road trip down the West Coast, closely followed by three weeks cruising around Europe. As if that wasn’t enough, this past weekend I went back up to Seattle to attend Pemberton music festival near Whistler in British Colombia with my friends.

While it was all so much fun and I’m not complaining for one second, since I got back from the music festival (which was amaaaaaazing) this past Monday, I have been so happy to sit my butt down on the couch, get caught up on work, and not move too much. Fresh berries are way at the top of my list of my favorite things about summer, right up there with cold fruity cocktails, sandy beach days, and 10pm sunsets. Raspberries, in particular, are some of my favorites.

A few weeks ago, I convinced my friend to come raspberry picking with me about an hour east of Seattle, and we spent hours weaving our way through the raspberry bushes, pulling the sun-ripened berries right off the vines. Only about half of the berries made it into the basket – the rest were going straight into our mouths. There’s nothing like eating a raspberry just pulled off the vine, still hot from the sun.
