This Paleo Pecan Pie is a healthier version of a holiday favorite! This recipe is a gluten-free, grain-free, refined sugar-free alternative to traditional pecan pie with the best Paleo pie crust I’ve ever tried!

Paleo Pecan Pie | A healthier, grain-free, gluten-free, refined sugar-free alternative to traditional pecan pie. This is the BEST Paleo pie crust I've ever tried! Recipe from Bakerita.com Phew, just barely sneaking in one last Thanksgiving recipe before the big day. This is a good one though, so listen up: I took a super guilty, sugar-free favorite and I made it way more guilt free. This pie proves that pecan pie sooooo does not need corn syrup to be good (in fact…it’s way better without that nasty stuff).

Pecan pie is a favorite of mine, and has been ever since this recipe entered my life. It’s full of browned butter and brown sugar and tons of pecans. That recipe is absolutely delicious, and is what this one is based off of. However, that one, though corn-syrupless as well, is still full of sugar and definitely a sinful treat. [Read more…]

This Spiced Apple Tart features cinnamon and nutmeg spiced apples nestled in an oatmeal-almond crust. This gluten-free and vegan dessert is healthy enough to double as breakfast! | #recipe from Bakerita.com Apples are, no doubt, one of my favorite ingredients to use (clearly – take a look at all my apple recipes!) and definitely one of my favorite things to eat. And eat a lot of them I do! There’s days where apples slathered with a little almond butter replaces meals. It’s the perfect treat, fills me right up, and they’re so delicious.

I cannot get enough of the giant Honeycrisp apples they sell at the grocery store near me, and that’s what I used in this recipe! Honeycrisp’s are my favorite, and I love the slightly tart edge they have. The flavor tasted so succulent with the aromatic spices. Use your favorite apple here though – any kind will be amazing. Blueberry Crispy Tart with Oatmeal Crust (Gluten-free, Vegan, & Refined Sugar-Free) | from Bakerita.com #recipe Soo…if you follow me on social media (InstagramTwitterFacebook, if you’re interested!), you might’ve seen me go a little baking-crazy yesterday. It had been a while since I did a crazy weekend of baking, and I took advantage of most of my housemates being gone to make lots of treats to post for you guys!

Baking is my personal form of self-therapy, and spending the whole day baking yesterday just makes me want to do it all over again today! Minus clean-up – that’s no fun. [Read more…]

No-Bake White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Pie | from Bakerita.com

Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake Pie

No-Bake White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Pie | from Bakerita.com Baking during the summer can be torturous, depending on what part of the country you live in. When it’s 85+ degrees, and you don’t have air conditioning, and your house feels like a sweatbox, the LAST thing on the whole planet that you want to do is turn your oven on to make the conditions even worse. But sometimes, you just have to have some baked goods. Enter: no-bake goodies.

I’m such a fan of no-bake goodies, because they usually come together quickly and either get stuck into the fridge or freezer to set for a bit, and then voila: baked goods, minus the baking. I even have a No-Bake Treats Pinboard dedicated to such things. [Read more…]

Berry Tart with Brown Butter Shortbread Crust, decorated for the Fourth of July! | from Bakerita.com

Berry Tart with Brown Butter Shortbread Crust

Berry Tart with Brown Butter Shortbread Crust, decorated for the Fourth of July! | from Bakerita.com It’s July! This is crazy. How has so much time passed?? I can’t believe things are already getting patriotic once again, and red, white and blue everything is already back covering my Pinboards. People are so darn creative with these things, I always have a hard time thinking of a recipe to throw into the ring! I’m so terrible about getting up holiday-relevant posts in time, but I worked extra hard to make sure that I got a Fourth of July post up for you guys. And it’s a GOOD one too.

This crust isn’t new to Bakerita.com, but it’s definitely a throwback to the early days. This Browned Butter Dulce De Leche Tart isn’t photographed the most beautifully, but it tastes amazing. This crust recipe (which actually used to be a cookie recipe when I first found it) makes everything it touches turn into gold…not really, but you know, close. It’s rich and buttery (as all things with brown butter are), and it stays wonderfully crunchy and flavorful under the whipped cream and berries. [Read more…]

Mango Tart (Gluten Free, Paleo, Vegan, Refined Sugar Free) | from Bakerita.com

Mango Tart (GF, Paleo, Vegan)

Mango Tart (Gluten Free, Paleo, Vegan, Refined Sugar Free) | from Bakerita.com I’m back in America! I’ve spent the past week acclimating to the (gorgeous) San Diego weather, getting some sun on my skin (that it had seriously been missing for the past six months), and of course, getting reacquainted with my kitchen! For real though guys – you have no idea how good it feels to be baking again. I miss London and having so many adventures terribly already, and I’ve barely been home a week, but it also feels so so nice to be back with my family, with all of the comforts of home! My list of recipes to make had been getting extraordinarily long through my baking hiatus, and I still have tons more recipes I need to make/perfect/share with you guys! This Mango Tart though, well, it has been on my to-do list for ages, and the recipe came out perfectly the first time I made it. If you’re from North County San Diego, you’ve likely had the Mango Tart from Pasta Pronto (now Urban Pi) in Del Mar. That tart is soooo goooood, with the juiciest mangos you can imagine, a wonderfully light creamy filling, and a crunchy delicious crust. I needed to replicate it, and with this tart, I’ve done just that – but made it a bit healthier. [Read more…]
